Hello [First Name]-
Did you see our latest update? Atlas Corps is excited to announce a new milestone in the ongoing development of our leadership programs. We are pleased to share our collaboration with Generation—our first official partnership on remote-only fellowships!
In October 2022, we welcomed Atlas Corps Fellows Anastasia (Russia), Abdulsamod (Nigeria), Benedicta (Ghana), Jerome (Ghana) to the Generation team as Fellows who will serve in a remote capacity.
The official press release shares details of this collaboration. Read more here.
Mona Mourshed, Global CEO of Generation, shared this reflection, “The Atlas Corps Fellows provide a great addition to our team, bringing global talent to move Generation’s work forward. We are delighted to partner with Atlas Corps as they pilot this new remote approach.”
We look forward to additional announcements in 2023 as we continue to make progress on our #AtlasCorps2025 strategy. Stay tuned!

Greetings!
September is soon arriving and we are already inspired by our 2022 highlights. As our global Community continues to grow to 1,400+ social change leaders from 115 countries, so does our gratitude for your support! THANK YOU for being by our side through it all!
Thank you for motivating leaders like American India Foundation Scholar Prakriti (Cohort 8, India), who is working to empower rural women towards digital micropreneurship. Prakriti describes your support for programs such as the Virtual Leadership Institute as monumental because it has allowed her to build her leadership skills within international development:
“Atlas Corps has been key in helping me develop my leadership skills and strategic planning skills. I was always wary of seeing myself as a leader but with the tools and resources provided by the Virtual Leadership Institute and the network of Scholars and Alumni, I believe I have more access to newer opportunities for engagement.”
Thank you for supporting us during our Bonus Day and Celebration of Service on July 20. I am happy to report that it was a success!
Thank you for supporting our growing Community. Since we last spoke, we welcomed new dynamic leaders into our global Community, which now includes 1,400+ social change leaders from 115 countries!
Most of all, thank YOU for being an amazing friend of Atlas Corps! You have made 2022 such an unforgettable year so far!
Until next time, Friend!
-Abby
P.S. Look forward to some exciting updates come September! I encourage you to visit and follow the Atlas Corps LinkedIn page, where we will be sharing more details soon!
Hello!
Thank you! Your support is achieving results - we welcome Atlas Corps Class 45 on Monday! These dynamic leaders will start their Blended Fellowship from their home countries with the goal of transitioning to the United States. In addition, Atlas Corps Class 44 will start arriving to Washington, DC, this weekend! They started their Blended Fellowship in January and now are ready to complete the Fellowship in the United States.
Thank you! Your support helped Atlas Corps adapt our model during the pandemic to create this Blended Fellowship. You also helped launch our Virtual Leadershp Institute in 2020 - meet our growing community of virtual Scholars.
You are part of a growing community of 1,200 social change leaders from 112 countries! These dynamic individuals have made Atlas Corps part of their leadership journey as they continue to develop into dynamic local and global leaders.
Fellow Patricia (Brazil, Class 42 July 2021, Host: Girl Up) recently shared this reflection after our January Immersion focused on the theme of "developing self" in a blog post:
"Developing self is not a one-time, singular, or linear process....I’m taking it easier on myself for not having those answers to be on a constant or the evolution level of growth. I know where I’m heading to, what is important and valuable to me as a person and a professional, and I am being more mindful of where I am. I am also being more mindful and intentional about who is around me, the effect of my actions on me, my surrounding, and the imprint they leave behind. And where to go next? I don’t think there’s a single path or step I should take. I’m embracing everything that’s coming. That’s my leadership journey."
Thank you for supporting Patricia and our community of 1,200 professionals on their unique leadership journey. We look forward to seeing you all develop, inspire, and impact our world in positive ways.
You are Atlas Corps!
Best-
Abby
P.S. Speaking of support - are you interested in meeting our Fellows? Volunteer with Atlas Corps as a Local Ambassador! We are currently looking for volunteers in DC, NYC, and Chicago. Each Local Ambassador is paired with an incoming Fellow to show them fun things to do in the city, check in and offer any assistance or answer questions about housing, transportation, and food. Hello!
Happy Holidays! Today, marks only 15 more days in 2021, which means 15 more days to celebrate the 15th Anniversary year of Atlas Corps. And, what a year it has been! Thank you for making it special and THANK YOU for getting us to this organizational milestone.
We invite you to mark this special occasion with some video highlights from the Atlas Corps 15th Anniversary Celebration that took place in Washington, DC, on November 20.
Of course, the real story of Atlas Corps is in the individuals who have been part of our journey over these 15 years. From those early adopters gathered around a table in India when we were just an idea to our circle of friends who show their support each year to the 1,100 social changemakers who have participated in our leadership programs, Atlas Corps is a movement. We are about connecting talented individuals to opportunity and to one another. THANK YOU for joining us!
This highlight video captures this organizational journey - watch here! The final scene features the inspired words of Atlas Corps Founder Scott Beale during our 5th Anniversray Celebration in 2011:
I'm glad I helped launch Atlas Corps.
I'm glad you helped launch Atlas Corps.
And for that I am eternally grateful.
Yes, we are eternally grateful as well. THANK YOU for being part of this community and for your continued support! As we celebrate 15 years, we also celebrate you.
Cheers-
Abby
P.S. Can we keep the celebration going? Will you join in our 15 for 15 campaign - our goal is to get 15 people to donate $15 for our 15th Anniversary. Will you show your support with a quick gift? #AtlasCorps15

A MESSAGE FROM THE ATLAS CORPS BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Dear Atlas Corps Community,
On behalf of the Atlas Corps Board of Directors, I thank you for your ongoing support of Atlas Corps during this pivotal moment in the organization’s history. Today, it is with great enthusiasm that I announce the incoming Atlas Corps CEO: Bidjan Nashat. Bidjan will officially join Atlas Corps on September 20.
Bidjan, most recently coming from Save the Children—an Atlas Corps Host Organization—brings extensive experience in the international development field that includes leading large, global non-governmental organizations as well as experience engaging in local community-based entities. In addition to his operational experience, we were impressed by Bidjan’s purpose-driven approach in articulating his vision for himself, the organization (including the staff, Fellows, Scholars, and Alumni), and global leadership in the 21st Century. We are confident that he will take Atlas Corps into the next 15 years with the passion that Scott Beale led us through during our first 15 years.
The Atlas Corps Board of Directors appointed a selection committee, with support from the search firm DRi, who engaged in a vigorous search process. The ultimate result was the Board’s approval of Bidjan as CEO. We thank all who engaged in this process and offered insight into our strategic development. We express special appreciation to this selection committee for the energy they dedicated to this process.
On behalf of the Board, I also extend our utmost appreciation to Abby Robinson(Chief Development & Engagement Officer, Class 2 Alumna) who seamlessly stepped into the role of Acting CEO. Her enthusiastic efforts, together with the entire Atlas Corps Team, have maintained an incredibly strong program and organization throughout this transition. During 2021, our dynamic Team navigated ongoing changes and still achieved the engagement of 60 Fellows and 376 virtual Scholars while also supporting the growth of our entire global Community. Team, you are an inspiration!
We invite you to meet Bidjan in our upcoming livestream: Atlas Corps Updates | August 23, 2021 | 12:00 PM ET - a conversation with Atlas Corps Leadership featuring Scott Beale, Abby Robinson, and Bidjan Nashat.
We also want to thank YOU, the Atlas Corps Community. Everything we have achieved at Atlas Corps, from winning online fundraising contests 15 years ago to overcoming the financial hardships of the pandemic to launching a Virtual Leadership Institute to engaging 1,100 professionals from 110 countries, has been accomplished by the collective efforts of this Community.
People are at the heart of our mission. This fact remains true today and will remain our guiding light into the future.
Very Best,
Whitney Hunter-Thomson
Chair, Atlas Corps Board of Directors
