Funding shower accessibility and services for asylum seekers at the Migrant Resource Center in San Antonio, TX.
As the country that created the very conditions they're fleeing from, the US has a moral imperative to provide for the families at our border. Recent reports have shown the mistreatment that the migrants have experienced while in US custody, including the extreme lack of hygiene and cleaning resources. Access to clean showers, feminine products, toothbrushes, and other hygiene products is a basic human right.
COHI is working with our partners, Suenos Sin Fronteras de Tejas, to provide shower and hygiene services to the asylum seeking population of San Antonio. In partnership with community organizations, we will be transporting asylum seekers from the Migrant Resource Center in downtown San Antonio, to shower facilities. Here we will supply them with clean towels, shower, feminine, and other hygiene products.
This crisis is not going away-these families will need our care, our attention, and our support for many years to come. COHI is in this fight for the long haul and that is why we need your help. We are raising $10,000 to provide valuable support to families being cared for at the clinics along the US/Mexico border by COHI and our allies. Let's make sure these migrants receive the dignity and respect they deserve once they are released from Border Control.
