Uptdates on feeding 190 stunted children

By Donatien NDIZEYE | M&E Leader

Introduction

Friends Peace House (FPH) developed the Feeding 190 Stunted Children with a Balanced Diet project to support vulnerable children experiencing stunting and improve their nutritional well being.
The project aims to provide children with nutritious and balanced meals while promoting awareness of proper nutrition among families and communities. Adequate nutrition during childhood is essential for healthy growth, development, learning, and overall well being.

Project Status During This Reporting Period

Unfortunately, no project activities were implemented during this reporting period due to insufficient funding. The organization did not have adequate financial resources to begin the planned feeding activities for the 190 children.
Although no activities took place, the project remains an important priority for Friends Peace House. We remain committed to supporting vulnerable children and are continuing to seek the resources necessary to implement the project.

Why This Project Matters

Stunting can have serious consequences for children's physical and cognitive development. Vulnerable families may struggle to provide children with sufficient and nutritious food, particularly when facing economic challenges.
Through this project, FPH hopes to contribute to improved nutrition and create better opportunities for vulnerable children to grow, learn, and develop to their full potential.

Planned Activities

Once funding becomes available, FPH plans to:

  • Provide balanced and nutritious meals to 190 vulnerable children.
  • Support improved nutritional intake and healthy growth.
  • Promote awareness of balanced diets and child nutrition among caregivers.
  • Work with families and community members to encourage sustainable nutrition practices.
  • Monitor the progress and well-being of supported children.

Challenges

The main challenge during this reporting period was insufficient funding, which prevented the organization from implementing the planned activities.
The lack of resources means that the targeted children have not yet benefited from the planned nutritional support. This reinforces the importance of mobilizing additional resources for the project.

Appeal to Donors and Well Wishers

Friends Peace House is optimistic that this project can still be implemented once sufficient funding is secured.
We therefore encourage our donors, partners, friends, and well wishers to support this important initiative. Contributions will help us provide nutritious food to vulnerable children and give them a better opportunity for healthy growth and development.
Every contribution, regardless of its size, can help us move closer to reaching the 190 children targeted by this project.

Conclusion

Although no activities were implemented during this reporting period because of insufficient funds, Friends Peace House remains committed to the Feeding 190 Stunted Children with a Balanced Diet project.
We sincerely appreciate the continued interest and support of our donors and well wishers. With their support, we hope to mobilize the necessary resources and begin implementing this project for the benefit of vulnerable children in Rwanda.

Together, we can help vulnerable children access nutritious food, grow healthier, and build a brighter future
