The project targets 500 PLWHAs, OVCs , widows and other marginalized groups who are in a devastating situation due to lack of asset, cultural barriers and inadequacy of socio-economic services.
Currently there are more than 10000 PLWHAs, orphans, widows and other vulnerable groups who are struggling against socio-cultural pressures, poor economy and dependency syndrome. These groups of people are food insecure, liable to various diseases, illiterate and marginalized. They are usually forced to indulge in desperate survival mechanisms such as prostitutions, child labour , beggary and the like. This project will affect 500 disadvantaged people who reside in 5 rural kebeles.
The project activities include awareness raising, beneficiary screening, training, provision of sheep, provision of fodder seedlings, vaccination, establishment of association and monitoring and evaluation.
Marginalized groups generate their own assets, increase food production, increase household income, develop entrepreneurship skills, increase social acceptance, get decision making power, meet socio-economic requirements and ensure gender equity.
