In April, our team of Syrian artists have led their first independent Artolution projects in In #Azraq refugee camp in Jordan! Their first mural mural represented a dialogue with participants about forgetting the “dark mazes” and looking towards the future. The youth expressed through imagery that they hope to rebuild what has been destroyed and release doves of peace into the vast sky. Color, light, and hope through Artolution projects will happen on a continuing basis with our incredible team.
Our artists created a space for young artists to supercharge their strength and resilience. More than half of the world’s refugees are children, many alone, and all facing continued risk of violence, neglect, abuse, trafficking. We believe with opportunities for creativity, collaboration, and positive social experiences, we can help them achieve their dreams instead. Kindergarten participants showcased their art skills and talked about a beautiful future with our local artist team.
The latest mural from Artolution’s Syrian refugee team in early June was the embodiment of a love for life. The participants were inspired by strengthening their relationships, and building true friendship based on hope and respect. They shared “We must help our leaders so that we can all live in peace.”
This is the hope we share with the entire globe for the upcoming World Refugee Day on June 20, 2019. The Artolution Syrian Refugee team will continue to deliver hope and healing through art-making initiatives to even more Syrian refugees.
