Dear friends,
After months of hard work, SINFONÍA TRÓPICO's book "An Artistic Travel Through Biodiverse Colombia" was launched on the 24th of August at Bogota's Jardín Botánico José Celestino Mutis. Once again, the team gathered in Bogota, -just before travelling to Florencia, Caquetá for a series of workshops and events,- to present, not only our first book but also SINFONÍA TRÓPICO's work of the past years, since it kicked off in November 2014 in Apartadó, Urabá.
The public was welcomed at Jardín Botánico with a guided tour that took us through different areas of the garden where a large and interesting variety of species of plants, flowers and trees where shown and explained to us. After that, at the auditorium we enjoyed the welcoming words of the director of Goethe Institut Colombia, Katja Kessing, and of SINFONÍA TRÓPICO's artistic director, Lillevan. To roud off the afternoon, SINFONÍA TRÓPICO's director Charlotte Streck gave a lecture on climate change where international, reginal and national solutions where introduced and compared to certain experineces developed in Germany. The book was received with admiration for its excellent content on the importance of Colombian biodiversity and other climate change related challenges presented by people who have been deeply involved with SINFONIA TRÓPICO.
With this campaign we continue to fund the already existing book, which can be ordered through our website. Here you can also check photos of the workshops and events that took place in Florencia, Caquetá.
The book launch was kindly organized and made possible thanks to the support of Goethe Institut Colombia.
Thanks for your support!
