Dear all,
Since our last report and after a period of revising last year’s work, designing graphics, collecting facts and writing articles, we are very close to being ready to print our catalogue. We will be publishing articles by a Spanish and a Colombian journalist, essays by renowned scientists and by the director of the Instituto Alexander von Humboldt, Brigitte Baptiste, as well as by Birgit Schneider who is a Professor for Media Ecology at the Institute for Arts and Media at the University of Potsdam. Their insights and visions on the arts and the environment - and the interaction between these two- are truly outstanding.
Other authors and contributions will be a preface by Katja Kessing, the director of the Goethe Institut Bogotá, an introduction by Charlotte Streck, director of SINFONÍA TRÓPICO and by Lillevan, the program’s artistic director. Furthermore there will be a chronicle on the exhibition we had during SINFONÍA TRÓPICO’s festival in November 2015.
Besides all these valuable contributions, you will find interesting information about Colombia and especially the regions we visited, accompanied by descriptions of the workshops and projects we developed in Urabá, Orinoquia, Guaviare, Chocó and Páramos/Usme.
All the precious work that has been done in different regions of Colombia should live on in this publication and will hopefully inspire people -, especially young ones! - to think differently about the importance of biodiversity and other environmental challenges the country is facing!
Stay put for the final steps towards SINFONÍA TRÓPICO’s book launch in Bogota.
Kind regards,
Caridad Botella
