Dear Friends,
We are excited to let you know how we have been doing since our just ended camping that you helped us with. We are excited to share the following updates with you.ABAN runs three programs, AWE (ABAN Women Empowerment), ACSP (ABAN Child Support Program) and ACE (ABAN Community Employment). With your support, we relaunched our programs and have received impactful feedback from the communities and beneficiaries
We started our projects in July, reconnecting with all the beneficiaries in the ABAN program to give them the additional technical and non-technical supports that they need. These supports has gone to them in various ways from technical to financial. As result of that, we have successfully organized the girls and other stake holders to understand their needs and tailor the program to solve the problem of poverty within our communities.
In the coming weeks, three new girls and 15 babies will be benefitting from the apprenticeship and school fee-paying program, adding to the over 30 girls and children still receiving support from ABAN. Throughout the year, we expect to support all of them on needs basis and will continue to strengthen our programs and invite more communities and women to receive this support you are giving them through us.
In August, we organized a two days seminar for the beneficiaries. The seminar was under the theme ‘’ The Capable Ghanaian Woman; Her Courage in the face of Neglect’’. The seminar was well attended by the beneficiaries with professional speakers educating the girls on Entrepreneurship, managing work conflicts, thinking like a winner, financial management among others. The seminar aimed to interact with both the beneficiaries of the program and their trainers in preparation towards giving them additional support in their journey towards living a sustainable independent life. A second session is to be organized for the trainers in September in building their capacity for impactful Apprenticeship training. We completed the first part of a six-session entrepreneurship training for a section of the girls who will be receiving full support to set up a shops in the next year.
Join us in the weeks ahead, as we continue to raise funds for various needs in the organization; rent for our office space, hire an assistant, reach out to the girls and our communities and revamping our ACE recycling and entrepreneurship center through our global giving site. You can also support us by recommending our upcycled products, new and old to conference organizer and for bulk orders. Meanwhile, you can continue to help us reach our goal by donating to our projects .
