The transforming power of art is the main tool of this project, which aims to train 250 children and young people from Colombia in theater, music, dance and communication, in a municipality that has been hit by violence and corruption. With continuous and constant educational processes, we want these young people to find in art a form of catharsis and resilience, as well as a way of life. Most do not have money to pay, so they will be free, with nutritional and psychological supplements.
The municipality of Bello, located on the outskirts of Medellin, has repeated countless times a cycle of poverty and violence inherited from the imaginations of previous decades. The history of our city has been strongly marked by drug violence, a situation aggravated by unemployment rates and low academic training. This project wants to mitigate the consequences of these conflicts and generate from art a transformative possibility in more than 250 children and young people.
The project will provide psychological and nutritional support to its more than 250 students, accompanied by constant training for life in three dimensions: 1: A channel of communication, expression and catharsysis. 2. The generation and training of artistic sensitivity. 3. The development of speaking and communication skills The above elements allow students in a didactic way to generate skills for conflict resolution, stress management and channeling in the creation of live proyect.
The project will give significant skills for the life of the students, however we must bear in mind that the life of each one of them orbits in a social, school and family universe in which it has the possibility of transmitting and multiplying the positive effect of a training for peace building. Transforming the city is impacting one life at a time, over time, we will add lives and causes aimed at a healthier and more just society.
