The "Disability via Art" project directly addresses the isolation faced by individuals with disabilities and seniors in Wroclaw by offering inclusive artistic workshops that foster community and self-expression. Donors can make a meaningful impact by supporting our efforts to empower these vulnerable groups, helping to break down barriers and promote a more inclusive society.
The "Disability via Art" project addresses the severe social isolation faced by individuals with disabilities and seniors in Wroclaw, who often spend most of their time alone due to barriers that limit their engagement. The research by the charity Sense revealed that nearly two-thirds (61%) of disabled individuals experience chronic loneliness. This isolation, especially among seniors and those with mobility issues, leads to declining mental health and a lower quality of life.
The project will create an environment that promotes active participation by providing specialized equipment and accessible spaces for workshops and gatherings. These artistic workshops will foster creative expression and social interaction, helping participants overcome isolation. Through regular activities, the project will empower individuals with disabilities and seniors to reconnect with their community and improve their quality of life.
By empowering individuals to engage with their surroundings, the project aims to reduce loneliness and foster belonging. Participants will experience less isolation, improved mental well-being, increased social interaction, and enhanced self-esteem. Through creative expression and opportunities for artistic engagement, they will fulfill a vital need for creativity. The initiative will promote social inclusion, creating a community that values all contributions.
