When Adriana find out that her work trip was taking her to the same place of residence of little Benjamin, she had no doubt to take the chance to visit him. Adriana has been Benjamin’s Godmother since 2016 through the Solidarity Godparents program of ACDI. They had never met, but they knew each other between the exchange of letters, drawing, presents and reports sent by child’s teacher. So, Adriana contacted the association and scheduled the visit.
To mediate this special meeting, there was Benjamin’s teacher Maria José. The place chosen for the meeting turned out to be Benjamin’ house.
After the meeting, Adriana gave us her feedback: “for me it was a gift to met his whole family. I am tremendously happy and grateful. Benjamin is a wonderful boy, he is very sweet and bright. We both got very excited about the meeting. He told me that I am his magical godmother. It meant so much to me».
Adriana described the intimate moments of the meeting, where in addition to the presentations, the whole family shared with her anecdotes about Benjamin’s life and personality. He’s 9 years old now. They also exchange gifts and there was time for games. “I won twice at domino" said Adriana, while she told us she is very grateful to be part of the program.
