In a world where emotional struggles often go unheard, Aquí Estoy Chat offers a lifeline through empathetic listening and safe, non-judgmental conversations. In 2024, our volunteer-driven platform supported 11,340 individuals, helping them navigate crises like anxiety, loneliness, and suicidal ideation. 84% of those we accompanied reported an improvement in their emotional well-being. However, 19,000 individuals who reached out were left without the support they needed—a gap that underscores the urgency of our mission.

Our goal for 2025 is to bridge that gap by expanding our capacity to reach those 19,000 people and beyond. This requires two key pillars of growth:

1. Scaling Our Impact: With more funding, we aim to increase the number of conversations we can manage daily by recruiting and training additional volunteers.
2. Diverse Narratives: We will diversify our pool of volunteers and content to ensure that everyone seeking help feels understood and supported, no matter their background.

To date, we’ve trained 3,044 volunteers in empathetic listening, providing them with tools to offer meaningful support. With your help, we can continue building this network and extend our reach globally.

We are thrilled to announce the launch of our new Empathy Training Hub, supported by FONSELP, designed to enhance the skills of our volunteer base. This comprehensive training platform includes five key units that cover the fundamentals of empathetic listening, structured conversations, special cases such as handling suicidal thoughts, and practical exercises.

The training is structured to ensure that volunteers are well-prepared to provide emotional support through our Aquí Estoy Chat platform. Each volunteer commits to a two-hour weekly shift, during which they engage in meaningful conversations via WhatsApp, offering a safe and understanding space for those in need.

This initiative is crucial for expanding our impact, allowing us to reach more individuals who seek emotional support while also fostering a community of skilled and compassionate volunteers. The training hub also includes regular supervision and community learning groups, ensuring continuous improvement and support for our volunteers.

By investing in this training, we not only empower our volunteers but also reinforce our commitment to providing high-quality, free emotional support across the Spanish-speaking community. This project marks a significant step forward in our mission to equip our volunteers with the tools they need to make a real difference in the lives of others.
