Impact Report: One Year of "Aquí Estoy"
Project Summary
"Aquí Estoy" is a global helpline that provides emotional support to Spanish-speaking youth and women through WhatsApp. We reach our community via TikTok and offer text-based support to prevent anxiety, suicidal thoughts, and emotional distress. Thanks to your support, we’ve spent the past year building a stronger, more responsive emotional support network in Latin America and beyond.
Impact Over the Last Year
Over the past 12 months, your contributions helped us:
Reach over 20,000 individuals, with an average of 1,600 people reaching out per month across Latin America and Spain.
Maintain a satisfaction score of 8.5/10, based on feedback from 20% of users who completed our voluntary survey.
Serve primarily women (66%) and youth aged 18–29, who represent our most vulnerable demographic.
Address key reasons for contact such as anxiety, suicidal thoughts, violence, grief, and self-perception.
Provide first emotional support through a trained network of volunteer listeners
We also strengthened our TikTok presence, where our videos reached over 5 million views, creating a direct pipeline to emotional support and spreading awareness around mental health.
Looking Ahead
For the upcoming year, we are setting an ambitious but necessary goal:
We aim to scale our service to operate 24/7 and expand our reach across the Spanish-speaking world. Right now, we are only able to respond to less than 50% of those who reach out. Scaling up means not only increasing our hours but also recruiting and training more volunteers, strengthening our infrastructure, and expanding our content strategy on TikTok to reach youth where they already are.
Why It Matters
Mental health is not a privilege — it's a right. Youth and women across the Global South continue to face invisible barriers to accessing support. “Aquí Estoy” exists to break through those barriers, one conversation at a time.
