You can provide life-saving, powerful antibiotic medication for at least 300 people a year. Impoverished people come to Sihanouk Hospital Center of HOPE with complex, drug-resistant infections that require hospitalization and rigorous medical treatment. Patients are admitted after seeking unsuccessful treatment from drug sellers and suffering from symptoms for a long time. Their infections are severe and require laboratory testing and appropriate medication. Your gift saves lives.
Cambodians come to the Sihanouk Hospital Center of HOPE after many unsuccessful and expensive attempts to seek effective healthcare. Our hospital has a 19-year reputation of providing quality health care to the very poor for free and is well-known throughout Cambodia. Changes in national policy have made it more challenging for us to secure donations of medications. Your contribution helps us purchase these life-saving drugs and continue to provide free treatment to very poor Cambodians.
With support from donors like you, we are able to serve at least 300 families a year with life-saving medication. Donations help poor Cambodians return to work, keep their children in school, retain their land and avoid crushing debt from health care expenses. Your contribution will also help us continue our work to educate local doctors about the appropriate use of antibiotics and to collaborate with partners on advocacy to deal with education about unrestricted access to these drugs.
Saving a life of a breadwinner or a caregiver is priceless and impactful work. SHCH hospitalizes many people each year, often for at least a week. The vast majority of them are discharged to resume their lives with a vital outlook for the future. Empowered with health information and the results of successful treatment, our patients are able to share their medical miracles with community members and encourage early intervention and appropriate treatments for serious medical problems.
