End of Year report 2023

Angel House Orphanage was founded to provide love, care and protection for young children from birth to ten years old upon arrival. Our dedicated team of qualified professionals provide optimum care for these vulnerable young children.

Our Mission Statement is direct and simple:

  • LOVE: The most important right of every child is to receive love and be accepted as a member of a family.
  • CARE: This includes caring for the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual needs of the child.
  • PROTECTION: To protect these young children from further exploitation, neglect or abuse.

Salient Accomplishments

Thanks to our collaboration with GlobalGiving, our foundation has been able to deliver exceptional care to neglected, abused, abandoned, or orphaned children, turning their sorrowful and hopeless spirits into joy and laughter once again. Through your partnership, these children have rediscovered their self-assurance and faith in adults, leading to remarkable academic progress. With the generous contributions from our GlobalGiving donors, we have successfully provided them with nourishing meals and vital medical aid, enabling them to flourish and grow into strong and resilient individuals, each with their own distinct character.

We started the year with fourteen wonderful children and admitted one infant girl in April and another in June, as well as three siblings; all of them admitted for temporary care with no adoption cases during 2023. Four clients were successfully re-united with their families and so we ended the year with fifteen clients, the youngest child is a one-year-old, and our oldest resident is ten-years-old.

Throughout the year we employed one registered social worker, four resident house-parents, one domestic helper and a part-time gardener. All our employees are well qualified and provide an excellent standard of care for these young children.

This year we had two children attending special education school and five children enrolled in elementary school, with two children attending Day-care class each week-day morning. The infants and toddlers are given stimulating activities that include art, story books, singing and educational games, as well as plenty of outdoor activities to improve their physical development.

We brought our nine oldest children to the big gift giving event in Davao during November, organized by the office of the President and the DSWD. It was such an amazing event with clowns, magicians, Bumblebee the transformer and Jollibee to entertain everyone, along with plenty of yummy food to eat. Our kids enjoyed themselves and this was the first time that so many child caring agencies had been together in one place for this special celebration.

We held our big Christmas party on December 16 for all the recipients of our outreach programs and everyone in the community that helps Angel House during the year. With 150 adults and children it was a very successful event, with delicious food prepared by our staff and plenty of games for everyone to enjoy.

This year, the amount of funds raised from individual donors is significantly lower compared to last year, and our expenses have increased across the board. This includes utilities, basic food items, salaries, and medicines. The financial support from donors on GlobalGiving has been crucial in allowing us to provide the necessary love, care, and protection for these vulnerable young children. However, to cover all our operational expenses, we need to increase the number of donors in the upcoming year.

We are excited about the coming year, which will bring challenges and hopefully more success in transforming the lives of these children and making their dreams come true. Our partnership with GlobalGiving is crucial for the fulfillment of our programs and services, and we deeply appreciate your financial support.
