To our wonderful community of supporters,
On behalf of the Support Yemeni Society Organization for Development (SYS) and the families affected by the devastating floods in Sana’a, we extend our deepest and most sincere gratitude for your generous support of our humanitarian project, "An Appeal for Urgent Relief to Flood-hit Sana'a." Your compassion is reaching families at one of the most painful and uncertain moments of their lives. Heavy rainfall and severe flooding have damaged homes, destroyed personal belongings, disrupted access to food and essential services, and placed thousands of vulnerable people at serious risk.
Historic buildings have collapsed, fragile homes have become unsafe, and many families—including children, women, older people, displaced households, and people living in poverty—have been left exposed to cold, hunger, illness, and further displacement.
For these families, your support is more than a donation. It is a lifeline.
Nagi’s Story: Relief at a Moment of Desperate Need
Nagi is one of the people affected by the floods in Bani Al-Hareth District. The heavy rains damaged his family’s home and destroyed many of their essential belongings. As the family struggled to cope with the disaster's consequences, securing enough food became one of Nagi’s most urgent concerns.
The damage to their home placed additional pressure on a family already facing difficult living conditions. With their limited resources redirected toward protecting their shelter and replacing essential household items, meeting the family’s daily food needs became increasingly difficult.
Through the generous support of donors like you, SYS provided Nagi and his family with an essential food basket. The assistance helped protect the family from hunger during a deeply distressing period and gave them the reassurance that they would have food while beginning to recover from their losses.
For Nagi’s family, the food basket represented more than a package of essential supplies. It provided relief from uncertainty, protected their dignity, and reminded them that they had not been forgotten.
Nagi’s experience reflects the reality of many families across Sana’a. Behind every damaged home is a family trying to protect its children, secure its next meal, and find the strength to rebuild.
In response to the crisis, our dedicated team mobilized rapidly to deliver urgent assistance to the most severely affected families in Bani Al-Hareth District and other vulnerable communities in Sana’a.
With your support, SYS has been able to:
Every food basket provides more than nourishment. Every blanket offers more than warmth. Every waterproof tarpaulin provides more than temporary shelter. Together, these essential items help protect lives, preserve human dignity, and give affected families hope during an overwhelming crisis.
Your generosity is helping save lives, reduce suffering, and restore a measure of security to families who have lost almost everything.
However, the emergency is not over. Continued rainfall and damaged housing mean that many families remain at risk and urgently need sustained support.
A Call to Continued Action
We warmly invite you to start a Monthly Donation. Even a few dollars a month will go a long way. This is the best way to ensure an ongoing impact. One last thing—sharing our project with your friends and family helps us spread the word about our work and continue to grow our community of supporters like you. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Ahmed Al-Qadhi at alhosam82@gmail.com.
We look forward to your support.
Warmest regards.
Yours respectfully,
Ahmed Al-Qadhi
