The Women's Leadership Network amplifies women's voices in Palestine and Israel by addressing the unique challenges women face in the context of peacebuilding efforts during the ongoing conflict. The program will contribute to regional and international advocacy efforts by building the capacity of women from the region to participate in decision-making processes and ensuring that their perspectives are centered in peacebuilding and civil society initiatives.
This project aims to address the significant underrepresentation of women in formal peacebuilding and political processes, particularly within the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. While women have made notable contributions to peace efforts, their roles are often marginalized in high-level negotiations. Despite the clear evidence that peace agreements are more likely to endure when women are involved, women's voices remain sidelined in critical decision-making forums.
By fostering collaboration, capacity-building, and advocacy, the project aims to increase the visibility of women in peacebuilding roles and ensure that their voices are integral to the peace process. Ultimately, the Women's Leadership Network seeks to create sustainable, gender-inclusive peace solutions in the Israeli-Palestinian context.
The Women's Leadership Network will bring together 12 women peacebuilders from three key communities: Palestinians in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, Palestinian citizens of Israel, and Jewish Israelis- to participate in a year-long hybrid meeting & capacity-building workshops program. WLN aims to create a sustainable impact on peace efforts in the region so that the voices of women will not only be heard but will drive meaningful change towards a more inclusive and equitable peace process
