Sarling village of Rapti Municipality in Chitwan district, Nepal lies in a very difficult geographical terrain (very hilly area). National grid electricity has not reached there because of difficult geographical terrain. ECCA mobilized the local women, helped them establish women group and provided various trainings for livelihood development. ECCA also provided solar photovoltaic lamps to each of the 20 members of Janajyoti Krishak Women Group, which helped ease their daily life. They were also provided orientation on renewable energy, solar energy, how to properly use the solar lamp, and its simple maintenance.
Mrs. Ranimaya, president of Janajyoti Krishak Women Group is very happy as the school going children of her community have now benefitted from the use of the solar PV lamp. By using the solar PV lamp, now, they can study well in the evenings as well.
We thank you for your support.
