Education has given me a ray of life- Akullu

By Samuel Odongo | Administrative Assistant Lira

My name is Akullu,  I am a 14 years old student studying at Omito Primary School,  in primary seven. I am excited to have reached P.7 and if I can go further ii intend to became a doctor or a nurse. I am  very thankful to PLA  and the different donors for supporting me to stop working and be in school like other children with parents. I thank them so much for paying my fees and feeding me during the during the Covid 19 period.  I  have reached the highest level of education  in primary school, which I never expected. I intend to read hard and   get first grade or if not the  worst I should get should be  second grade. My request to platform for Labour Action and the donors who support us is to continue paying my school fees to secondary education if I pass my primary seven well. I don’t want to stop in primary school as I want to be the first graduate in my area and my family so many other young girls can know that them too can make it..

I am al so requesting PLA to support us with scholastic materials and other matreials like pads since the ones I were given got finished and  buying scholastic materials became difficult as  I am no longer selling fruits on streets  as I was told its child labour and that I should be in school. Also primary seven commitment is very high and its difficult hence I request for materials every month.. May Almighty God Bless PLA  and the donors so much with the PLA staff for supporting me during holidays and school time
