Dear Supporters,
The Farmcity Team is happy to attach below the first update for the project you have kindly supported. Things have been quite challenging as Mauritius went through 2 lockdowns, and access to the farm is limited to specific permits given only by the authorities. Nevertherless, we have made great progress in the setup and have received 28 applications to date, with amzing project ideas ranging from mushrooms cultivation, bees and honey, home aquaponics systems etc.
Our current selected agripreneurs are:
(1) Linley - Home Aquaponics,
(2) Brando - Self-irrigated planter beds
(3) Barthelemy - Oyas Project
(4) Jeet - Microgreens Project
(5) Nuzhah - Mushroom Production
Between October and December 2020, five (5) Social media posts have been shared so far totalling: 296 Likes/Comments and 21 Reshares.
Mentorship sessions have started on 16 Dec 2020.
We will keep updating you on our progress and the progress of the agripreneurs we support in the followup reports.

The Agripreneurs’ Hub is an initiative launched by Farmcity to accompany and support local entrepreneurs in their journey to start and grow their agri ideas. Farmcity’s support includes dedicated space for the agripreneur at the Learning Farm, in addition to a tailored mentorship program. The Agripreneurs’ Hub offers aspiring agripreneurs a chance to test-bed their idea on a small scale, in a collaborative space, with like-minded agripreneurs.
