Partnerships driving climate resilience and adaptation

Climate-smart agriculture succeeds when innovation reaches farmers as a system—not as isolated technologies.

At COSMA’s recent Farmers Field Day in Sembabule, organized in partnership withAfrican Fertilizer and Agribusiness Partnership (AFAP), we saw the power of collaboration in action—bringing together farmers, private-sector innovators, extension services, community organizations, and agricultural value-chain partners.

For farmers facing unpredictable rainfall, prolonged dry spells, and rising production risks, resilience requires more than improved seed or inputs. It requires knowledge, appropriate technologies, access to markets, and strong partnerships to drive demonstrations gardens.

When these pieces come together, poor gardens (in pictures) are changed to commercial farms (In pictures) and climate-smart agriculture becomes a practical pathway to higher productivity, stronger resilience, and more secure rural livelihoods.

Resilient farming systems are built through partnerships centred on farmers.
