The youth of today are tomorrow's leaders. Afrika Tikkun's 'Future Leaders' campaign on LinkedIn highlights our uniquely impactful 'Cradle to Career" model by showcasing 12 teens, aged 13-19 who have risen above dire poverty to aspire to the roles of global leaders such as Steve Collis, Richard Branson, Elon Musk & Cheryl Sandberg. Your generous support helps 20,000 kids in our programs replace despair with the education, nourishment and skills that will ensure a bright future for them and us.
In the five township communities that we serve, young people face many challenges that are no fault of their own. Most of our beneficiaries lack basic necessities of life and we serve a large number of orphaned, vulnerable and at-risk youth. Some the issues we address include poor schooling and academic outcomes, Social shocks of poverty (drugs, crime, gangsterism, gender-based violence, high rate of HIV/AIDS), high rate of youth unemployment and poor productivity of the employed.
The campaign uses LinkedIn to share stories of 12 Afrika Tikkun students, who have surmounted abject poverty and enormous obstacles. The students will invite professionals and leaders to connect with them on LinkedIn and follow their stories, as they make progress towards achieving their academic and professional goals. The campaign will raise support for the many disadvantaged kids served by Afrika Tikkun, enabling them to break the cycle of poverty and become leaders of tomorrow.
The campaign is designed to generate both awareness and long-term support so that Afrika Tikkun can help more disadvantaged youths achieve their potential. This campaign will result in disadvantaged youth receiving access to education, nutrition, and social services through Afrika Tikkun's holistic 'cradle to career' development model. Our goal is to enable them to achieve economic stability and pursue their dreams.
