We have compiled educational books for children that change the way they think and restores their connection to the natural world as well as building character, personal integrity and balance in life. We visit rural schools in South Africa to deliver the booklets and lesson plans, to educate children that helping others helps them, and that they can improve their lives through constructive decision making.
After many years of bringing the conservation message to all sectors of society, one of the biggest challenges that we have encountered, working with people of all ages, is developing a link between people and the natural world. The modern world has increasingly driven a wedge between people and nature. We undercut the messaging so that children can relate it directly their lives.
The goal is to improve understanding of the importance of a balanced give and take in every aspect of life, from one's relationship with one's parents, teachers, school and local businesses to the natural world. The book walks the child through a series of exercises, each aimed at getting them to look at the effect that they have in the world, and the potential they have to increase their own positive impact. They look at things that people and nature do for them and what they do in return.
As a child improves their relationship with others and nature they have the potential to grow into adults that understand that they can positively impact the world. They can bring about a new era of constructive decisions that build relationships and positively supports the natural world, creating a better planet for all living things. Because no one survives alone.
