AfricAid first began installing computer labs in Kisa Partner Schools in 2010. At that time we had only two Partner Schools, and 22 Kisa Scholars. At the end of 2015 we have 17 Partner Schools across two regions, and 675 Tanzanian secondary school girls enrolled as Kisa Scholars. We’re thrilled to be able to say that, with your support, each of those schools now has a functioning computer lab. Because the labs are accessible to all students and staff at Partner Schools, a massive 17,000 are benefitting from this initiative. The other good news is that we were able to do all this for less than we’d originally budgeted, thanks to our recent partnership with the wonderful folk at Computers 4 Africa.
As a result, we’ve decided to remove the initiative from Global Giving so we can focus our Global Giving fundraising efforts on other aspects of the Kisa Project. So if you’d like to continue to donate through Global Giving you can still do so, and bring educational and other benefits to hundreds of Tanzanian secondary school girls. Just search AfricAid’s projects on Global Giving.
AfricAid plans to add four new Partner Schools in mid-2016, so for those who are particularly keen to support our ICT efforts in Tanzania, you can do so through the donate page on our website, or just send an email to info@africaid.com and we’ll arrange everything for you.
Thank you so much for your support. We wish you and your family a very happy holidays!
