Based in a farming village in one of the hardest to reach areas of Zimbabwe. The local Clinic was constructed around 1970. With a population of over 5000 people around the community, the clinic is facing serious challenges in terms of service delivery. Girls and Women are struggling with mensural health support, maternity care and the wider community are at a high risk of many other diseases and illnesses. They need help TODAY
The clinic is critically underfunded. Medical staff are funded by the local government but there is no funding available for the clinic. The local community is a farming community in extreme poverty and as a result items have been stolen.
We will fund a upgrade of the clinic that will include security and safety measures. The clinic needs furniture, more beds on the labour ward, a huge paint and clean up, toilets need fixing and new solar panels that was stolen need to be replaced with anti theft equipment installed. We also need to install burglar bars and alarms however no funding is available. The clinic also has a shortage of drugs, equipment, beds and blankets.
Long term we aim to leave a clinic that is secure and equipped to help the community, once we get to this stage we will work with the community members to ensure they secure basic funding to keep these conditions up.
