This the kickoff campaign to support Advocates for Equal Justice Initiative's (ADVEJI) efforts in providing urgent and comprehensive legal aid advice and support services to victims of sexual abuse and exploitation, violence against children, gender-based violence, and other forms of human rights violations in and around Kampala, Uganda. This project will also provide support to women impacted by COVID-19 in Kampala.
Women in the slums of Kampala are limited in their income producing skills, thus forcing them to be dependent on a man to provide for them and their children. At times, these are even abusive men who take advantage of women's lack of ability to financially support themselves and their children.
This project will NOT solve the problem, but it will help many women obtain the skills they currently cannot afford or do not realize they have access to. It will also allow children to go to school without the fear of being kicked out due to unpaid tuitions or the threat of childhood marriage to helps support the family.
The long-term impact is a generation of women who are self sufficient with skills that help themselves and their communities. This campaign will afford children to grow up realizing opportunities and possibilities of a better tomorrow.
