Adopt a chimpanzee and become a friend of Ngamba

Today, Chimpanzee Trust cares for 54 orphaned chimpanzees whose survival, health, and wellbeing are made possible through the generosity and commitment of our supporters. Your contributions have enabled us to provide food, medical care, shelter, protection and a safe environment for these incredible animals.

Conservation is a collective responsibility and every contribution makes a difference. We are deeply grateful for your continued partnership and appeal for your support as we work together to give these chimpanzees the care they deserve.

Keeping Our Chimpanzees Healthy

In July, we successfully concluded our routine chimpanzee health checks an important part of ensuring the wellbeing of the animals under our care. The veterinary team carried out comprehensive examinations on every individual chimp.

We have maintained regular health check that allow us to identify potential health concerns early and ensure that appropriate treatment and preventive care are provided.

Conservation Beyond the Sanctuary

Our work extends beyond caring for chimpanzees at the sanctuary. We continue to conduct research and engage communities living in areas where chimpanzees occur in the wild.

We have placed particular emphasis on conservation education among school-going children because we believe conservation begins with awareness from an early age. Through these engagements, children learn about chimpanzees, their habitats, the threats they face and the role they can play in protecting wildlife.

We have also supported tree-planting activities as part of our efforts to promote habitat restoration and encourage communities to take an active role in environmental conservation.

Chimpanzees have continued to be fed 4 times a day in the morning, mid-morning, afternoon and in the evening and food deliveries from the main land have continued every 10 days.

We were deeply saddened by the sudden loss of Asega one of the chimpanzees under our care. His passing was a painful moment for our staff, caregivers and the chimpanzees who shared a home.
