Bangladesh’s elderly population is facing a silent yet devastating crisis. Financial insecurity, chronic health issues, and growing social isolation have made their lives increasingly difficult. The most painful consequence of these hardships is their struggle with food insecurity. For many, even securing one meal a day is a challenge-while accessing healthy, nutritious food remains an unattainable dream.
In response to this harsh reality, the Global Community Organization (GCO) has stepped forward with a vital initiative. In partnership with GlobalGiving Foundation Inc., GCO is delivering nutritious meals directly to elderly individuals who are often overlooked-those living alone or abandoned by their families. At present, 10 elderly men and women are receiving regular food support through this program.
This is just the beginning. With adequate funding and support, GCO plans to expand the initiative to reach more regions and touch the lives of many more in need. Because at its core, this project is about more than just food-it’s about restoring dignity, hope, and a sense of belonging.
GCO believes that no one, regardless of age, should be denied the basic human right to food. This effort is a small but determined step toward ensuring that no one is left behind in the fight against hunger.
