Addressing hunger among the elderly population in Bangladesh poses several challenges, including financial dependency, health problems, and social isolation, which significantly affect their food security. To tackle these issues, the following initiatives can be effective:
The Global Community Organization (GCO) has taken steps to address this pressing issue. Through its partnership with the GlobalGiving Foundation Inc., GCO is currently distributing nutritious meals to elderly individuals in need. Presently, food assistance is being provided to five elderly people, with plans to expand the initiative in phases as additional support becomes available.
With adequate funding and support, this project has the potential to extend its reach to all elderly people at the grassroots level, ensuring that no one is left behind in the fight against hunger.
