This report summarizes the activities, performance, and key observations of the Vidya Jyothi Library at the Agastya's creativity campus for the period covering Quarter 1 (April–June) and Quarter 2 (July–September) of 2025.
I. Executive Summary
The library demonstrated excellent performance in program delivery and community reach during this six-month period, successfully engaging thousands of students and teachers through both digital and physical initiatives. The Grand Total Exposure reached 9,183 visits, with 3,533 unique Campus Students actively participating.
Despite this success, a critical operational challenge was identified: no books were catalogued throughout the entire period, creating a backlog that hinders the accessibility of newly acquired resources.
II. Program Highlights and User Engagement
A. Reach and Participation -
The overall engagement was exceptionally strong, with the second quarter showing significant accelerated growth.
The total community reach across all programs and activities exceeded nine thousand exposures (9,183 visits).
The library successfully reached 3,533 unique Campus Students.
Total Direct Users, including students, teachers, staff, and general visitors, amounted to 1,750 individuals.
The second quarter (July–September) was particularly active, nearly doubling the exposure achieved in the first quarter (April–June).
B. Educational and Community Initiatives -
Core activities focused on enhancing literacy and educational capacity in the surrounding communities.
Digital Literacy: "Apni Pathasala" sessions under the Digital Library (DL) program were recurring features in both quarters, ensuring sustained access to digital content.
Teacher Training: Targeted professional development was conducted for Government Teachers, focusing on enhancing creative skills through a session on "Re building story with the selected images."
Special Programs:
Quarter 1 featured a dedicated Summer Camp program to engage children during the break period.
Quarter 2 included an intensive Out Reach session specifically aimed at strengthening the collections and organizational capacities of the libraries in 20 nearby primary schools through consistent, on-site engagement.
III. Conclusion and Recommendation
The library demonstrated excellent performance in program delivery and community reach. The momentum established in user exposure suggests the programs are highly impactful and meeting community needs.
However, the critical absence of book cataloguing represents a primary threat to the long-term health and usability of the library's physical assets. The primary operational priority moving forward is to address this backlog immediately to ensure the successful acquisition of books translates into organized, accessible resources for all beneficiaries.
