The Anti-Corruption Foundation, founded by Alexei Navalny, has been opposing Putin since 2011. Alexei is now in jail on a trumped-up case and his organization has been declared extremist in Russia, but Navalny's team continues its work: releasing investigations, fighting propaganda, helping anti-war activists, and telling Russians the truth about Putin's crimes. Helping the ACF is a way to support Putin's biggest political opponent and help weaken his regime from within Russia.
Putin spent years building a dictatorship, which eventually resulted in a criminal war. He has been purging the political field, silencing the independent media, and suppressing any form of grassroots self-organization. With the outbreak of war, all these processes were cranked to the max. Opponents of the regime are forced into exile or sent to prison. The Kremlin wants to silence the voices of all dissenters. Our goal is to prevent it and bring the truth to the Russians.
We utilize our media resources to counter Kremlin propaganda: 12-15 million people receive information from us every month. Investigations by the ACF directly targets Putin and his entourage: we push for sanctions against Putin's accomplices and seizure of their foreign assets. To help anti-war activists in Russia, we have created a platform where they can safely coordinate their activities without fear of persecution. Another area of our work is the #FreeNavalny campaign.
For the war to end, we must increase the pressure on Putin's regime: both from the outside, through personal sanctions, and from the inside, through public discontent.
