When we first started Dulaari, it came from a simple realization.
As we worked with women through our programs, we saw that many of the women and girls we engaged with needed more information, conversations, and support around Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR).
So, we asked them a simple question:
What does menstruation mean to you, and how do you manage it?
That question sowed the seed for Dulaari, which began as an initiative of SAATH to create safe spaces for women and adolescent girls to learn, ask questions, and talk openly about SRHR and menstrual health.
Since then, Dulaari has reached 300 women and adolescent girls across Madhesh and Bagmati provinces of Nepal, working through two key pillars:
Education: building knowledge and awareness around SRHR and menstrual health.
Access: making menstrual hygiene products more accessible to women and girls who need them.
Over the years, Dulaari has connected with women across communities and created ripples of impact through knowledge. The menstrual hygiene kits we distribute have reached 300 women from 300 different households, extending conversations and awareness beyond individual participants and into their families and communities.
Every question, every conversation, and every woman who feels more informed and confident is part of the impact we hope to create.
We look forward to continuing this journey, reaching more women and girls across more communities, and creating more spaces where SRHR can be discussed openly and without hesitation.
Thank you to everyone who has been a part of Dulaari’s journey. We are grateful to have you with us. With you, we aim to reach more women and become part of more stories.
