38% of adolescent girls miss school during menstruation due to stigma or lack of access to hygiene products.
Dulaari as a project ensures access to menstrual hygiene products and every trained participant receive a menstrual hygiene kit that is wholesome and supports menstrual hygiene management every month.
We have been able to engage with 120 women and adolescent girls from the Madhesh province through Dulaari till date. Having trained 8 SRHR defenders from Bagmati and Madhesh provinces, the SRHR defenders have been active in their communities and facilitating workshops on Menstrual Health and Hygiene Management.
The participants have been grouped in a team of 20 and they receive a 3 day workshop in their community. Every workshop is completed by distribution of menstrual hygiene kit. The menstrual hygiene kit ensures that each participant has access to the most basic menstrual hygiene product and is able to use it for long run.
Our menstrual hygiene kit is a combination of menstrual underwear, towel, regular underwear, toolkit on menstruation, and a scrunchie to make menstruation easy for girls and women.
Each participant of the workshop, have reported increased knowledge on menstrual health and management.
