Access to Knowledge through Computer Education

Srirupa* from a little distant, around 7 Km, Manirampur* village is a student of Standard III (3) in our Model School - ‘Kishalay Sishu Siksha Niketan’ (KSSN)’ located at Nandakumarpur village in remote Sunderbans. She comes to school by our School Car. Her father Mr. Satadru* is a farmer. And her mother Mrs. Maya* is a home maker. On an average Satadru earns only around Rs. 4000.00 per month. Srirupa has been studying in our school since she was a little kid now around 5 years. Her overall performance as a student is good.

Standard III (3) is the beginning for computer classes in our school. Hence, Srirupa also started attending the Computer Classes under the mentoring of Computer Teachers. It is noticed that she has a growing interest in operating Computers and utilising it properly as required.

Very remarkably she is learning fast in handling different operations of Computer. She can alter photos for ‘Screen Saver’, create and name ‘folders’ and able to save ‘file’ in desired folder quickly. With her creative aptitude she started drawing pictures with ‘Paints’.

Recently she has started learning use of Internet Networks. Thus she learnt opening ‘Google’ search drive and ‘YouTube’. Adding to her imaginations she is now opening Cartoon Series through ‘YouTube’. We feel ourselves fortunate to afford Computer Orientation to the little girl Srirupa from remote backward village in deep Sunderbans.

We aim to afford more such children from the remote areas of Sunderbans.
