Increasing Access to Justice for All

Since our previous update, we have continued to provide legal support to the local community and civil society actors and to increase access to justice for human trafficking survivors. In March, we supported the Women’s Empowerment Forum and provided presentations on cyber scams to promote awareness on identifying and preventing forced labor and human trafficking through online scams.

Additionally, Monica Sok, our founding Firm Member, Amrin Law and Consultant Group, was invited to participate as a panelist to discuss "Online Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse" in collaboration with the Australian Federal Police and the Cambodian National Police. The session was attended by 28 national police officers representing all provinces, along with two prosecutors from the Ministry of Justice.

In addition to supporting human trafficking survivors, we have also supported recent events to increase access to justice for local communities in Cambodia. These include an event related to Art & Law and, to celebrate Pride Month in June, an event related to Law & Pride.

The Art and Law event, hosted in collaboration with Sithi Knhom - My Rights, featured a session where we provided learning about democracy, human rights, and freedom, bridging the gap between art and law. A total of 180 participants attended the event. Together, we explored vital topics, shared diverse perspectives, and fostered a community dedicated to making a difference.

We also supported My Rights at the “Pride Fest 2024 - Law and Pride” event to promote legal knowledge and awareness for gender diverse individuals in Phnom Penh to spread legal literacy on topics related to rights of same-sex couples to the general public in Cambodia.

Finally, we are preparing to conduct additional training related to cyber scams and protection for the youth to raise awareness and promote access to justice related to forced labor and human trafficking. We sincerely appreciate your generous contributions and ongoing support of our work!
