Project Update

A Big Thanks to all those who donated and think that Sanitation is really important.
Our project team is working sincerely towards implementing the project and achieving the goals and targets they have set. After years of working intensively at a grassroots community level, results are there for everyone to see. This is enabling to have a broader impact on the lives of the beneficiaries.
The project has found resistance from backward communities as they are not aware of ill effect of open defecation and are not very comfortable in relieving themselves in a close proximity to their household and surrounded by walls. Traditional attitudes hold that they go to relieve themselves in open and far away from the place they reside.
In the last three months the project has delivered services. Nidan has sucessfully worked with other partners and reached to the numbers reported bellow.

- Made 40 community toilets.
- Installed 10 hand pumps in 10 villages.

Our project team is working sincerely towards implementing the project and achieving the goals and targets they have set. After years of working intensively at a grassroots community level, results are there for everyone to see. This is enabling to have a broader impact on the lives of the beneficiaries.
There have been several challenges though. The project needs to raise funds for construction of free toilets in every household.
The project has found resistance from backward communities as they are not aware of ill effect of open defecation and are not very comfortable in relieving themselves in a close proximity to their household and surrounded by walls. Traditional attitudes hold that they go to relieve themselves in open and far away from the place they reside.
In the last three months the project has delivered services. The numbers reached are reported bellow.
- Made 27 community toilets.
- Made 48 individual household toilet units.
