We are a Swiss based organisation founded in 2017 and since then we are trying to rescue abandoned dogs and cats in Turkey and re-home them internationally. With the new very controversial law in place since summer 2024, the strays need our help more than ever. We are overwhelmed by the numbers and we need help to clear our clinic debts and pay our routine costs for our 80+ animals under our care so that we can continue to rescue these innocent souls and give them a second chance in life.
In Turkey there are alarming numbers of dogs and cats abandoned on the streets or in the overcrowded shelters. These are not big mix strays only, these are breeds like Golden Retrievers, Poodles, Maltese terriers, British shorthairs etc that were bought as a puppy or a kitten from a petshop or a breeder, after a while people get bored and just abandoned them. They usually are not spayed or neutered so they start reproducing across breeds, starve to death, run by a car or get a deadly virus
Since 2017, we try to rescue of those who are most vulnerable, especially the ones who grew up in a home then abandoned. They have no chance of surviving neither on the streets nor in the horrible shelters. We work with local shelter volunteers or individual rescue workers to identify the animals anywhere in Turkey and save them. Once they are under our care, we prepare them for international adoption. During this process, we also increase awareness among public about the importance of adoption
We aim min 100 international adoption per year, it may be a drop in the ocean however if you consider that we always spay / neuter these animals this actually means thousands of puppies and kittens not being born into misery, not to mention that we give a well deserved second life to those poor abandoned dogs and cats. We also encourage people not to buy a dog or a cat where so many are dying in agony every day somewhere in the world waiting for a family...
