Do you consider that education is the most powerful weapon we can use to change the world? We definitely do. And we know that we have to start with the youngest. This is why we devote all our energy into working with little children and their families, and we need your support to make it real.
YachayKuska School is a kindergarten and elementary school that provides an alternative education for the children of Ollantaytambo and the Sacred Valley. As the school has grown we now realize it is important to have a permanent home that will provide the foundation for this school now and for many years to come. By the moment, we are located in a land assigned by a local hotel, but we cant grow or establish there.
To ensure the continuity and improvement of the school and benefit more children, we are looking to purchase a piece of property to establish a permanent home for the school. This will allow us to improve our programmes, to grow, to create an after school programme, to continue offering phycological support to the families, to have a big garden where we could grow our food and improve our nutrition programme, and to have the stability we need to continue growing.
The hole community will benefit from having a new, modern, innovative educational centre, wich offers the children of this ancestral Inca land an alternative education that upholds the ideals of holistic education. This education accounts for the individual academic and emotional needs of each student, and prepares them for the incredible demands of the 21st century. We will be an example for other institutions and work toghether with them to improve local education.
