Last November, because of you, we completed our winterized enclosure.
What once felt impossible became real: insulation, warming mats, heated pads, and heated houses — a safe, dry, warm space for cats who have never known security.
And this winter?
Every single cat in our sanctuary not only survived — they thrived.
Not one cold-related emergency. Not one loss.
Your generosity quite literally changed what winter looks like for feral and forgotten cats.
Beyond Our Walls
Your support didn’t just stay inside our sanctuary.
We were also able to distribute seven insulated feral cat shelters to caretakers in Detroit and Southfield — extending warmth and protection to cats living outdoors in some of the harshest conditions.
Because of you, warmth rippled outward into the community.
The Family You Helped Save
You may remember the abandoned mom and her kittens.
Today, we are overjoyed to share:
Calamity is growing, playing, and finally learning how to just be a kitten.
Smokie, Butch Cassidy, and Wyatt Earp are healthy, vetted, and officially up for adoption.
Mom is safe, stable, and no longer at risk of another pregnancy.
Watching Calamity discover toys and sunshine after such a hard beginning reminds us why this work matters so much.
Where We Stand This Spring
Since launching this project:
20 cats adopted into loving forever homes
10 cats currently in sanctuary care
3 in quarantine receiving medical attention
40 cats safe in foster homes
30 cats supported through outreach efforts
That’s 83 lives currently in our circle of care.
Every number is a name. Every name is a life that could have been overlooked.
What Spring Brings Next
Spring means hope.
It also means pregnant moms and fragile kittens are about to cross our paths.
We are preparing now — stocking medical supplies, readying quarantine spaces, and bracing for emergency vet visits.
But we have one urgent need first.
A Safety Fix We Can’t Ignore
The wood around our sanctuary door has deteriorated badly over the winter. We’re worried it could separate soon, compromising safety and insulation.
We want to fix it before it becomes an emergency.
A secure door means:
Protection from predators
Proper temperature control
Continued safety for vulnerable cats
After everything you helped us build, we want to protect it.
How You Can Help This Season
Your support right now will help us:
Repair and secure our sanctuary door
Prepare for incoming pregnant moms and neonatal kittens
Cover spring veterinary expenses
Continue saying “yes” when others can’t
Because of you, winter was warm.
Because of you, Calamity is playing instead of fighting to survive.
Because of you, 20 cats are sleeping in forever homes tonight.
If you’re able to give this spring, you are directly protecting the next life that comes through our door.
With endless gratitude,
Feral Today Friend Tomorrow
