We Will Never Stop
By Marcella Simmons | President / CEO
Thanks to you, kids have a safe place to go after school. Instead of going home alone while their families are at work, our kids are learning to play soccer and make art, forming friendships with peers and relationships with adult mentors, and improving their grades at our Homework Help Center.
At Alberta’s Lillie Inc., we continue to be a place of refuge for those in disadvantage communities. We sincerely hope you and your loved ones are staying safe and healthy during these times.
The communities we serve consist of a mixed population of migrant workers, domestic workers, laborers, daily wage earners, and others who heavily rely on government assistance for life necessities. Our efforts support the most vulnerable families, who are under-employed or unemployed and lack life’s bare necessities and find themselves with no jobs & food and are hit hardest by the 40 year inflation highs. The inflation rates have disrupted their lives. They live through their small savings and by borrowing money and raw essentials. But as there is no immediate end in sight, these families have exhausted all their resources and means.

During the 2022 summer and holiday season, your donations helped us to award 5 educational scholarships; 5 Chromebooks to advance STEM learning during the summer months; feed 250 families during the Thanksgiving holiday and gave 150 families toys during the Annual Season of Sharing event. Lastly, we were able to help relocate a family into their new permanent housing in a safe and secure environment for a mom of three boys.
We sincerely hope you and your loved ones are staying safe and healthy during these unprecedented times. We won't let the most vulnerable among us be side-lined during this time of crisis, but we need your support. Now, more than ever, our community needs us and we need you. We hope we will overcome this traumatic period together as we continue to be the change we want to see throughout underserved communities.
