Markengee Home for Orphans and widows plans to feed 200 Nigerian IDPs (Internally Displaced Persons) camping in Abuja, Nigeria between the month of January or February 2016 as the case may be. This project aims at encouraging other foundations and the world at large to pay attention to the plight of these orphans and widows affected by the insurgency in the north-eastern part of the country.
The insurgency in the north-eastern part of Nigeria by Boko Haram has displaced over 3.3million Nigerians and among these are orphans &widows. These widows and orphans have become homeless and seek refuge in camps around the country. Markengee Home for Orphans and widows will provide them with one nutritious meal-a-day to reduce hunger among them and give them a sense of belonging that the world at large cares about their plight even while they prepare to be reintegrated back into the society.
We provide nutrition to starving orphans and widows. We will also give health/safety talk on proper hygiene and basic disease prevention tips in the camps.
This project will provide meals for 200 orphans or widows who have been displaced, giving them a sense of belonging as well as educate them on disease prevention and hygiene.
This project has provided additional documentation in a DOCX file (projdoc.docx).
