A short update: analysing the best options for land purchase

By Olga Pavlovsky | Volunteer Fundraiser

Sheeba, currently with us at the rescue

Now that yours and your fellow donors' kind gifts are beginning to really add up, we have been busy on our side looking at the additional financilng that we can lean on to make the purchase of land for the rescue happen as soon as possible.

What this means is that we're speaking with our bank about the possibility of borrowing once we are able to have enough funds for a substancial deposit. We are also now starting to create a team who will research other funding sources which can help to get us to our goal faster.

While we do have volunteers keeping an eyweout for various premises, we tend to see that the good ones always get snapped up quickly - in a metter of weeks. Therefore, our only way to proceed is to get enough funds together for a deposit and line up where we would borrow enough to complete a purchase (unless, of course, we are able to raise all the funds in one go!). When we get there, we will be ready to go when the ideal place does come up.

Once again, we cannot thank you enough for helping us to achieve this enormous change for the rescue at such an early stage when not much is yet known. We know it will be a long road and, for the moment, until we get enough funds together for at least a deposit, the news will be more about what we're doing to prepare, rather than being able to share photos of potential premises. But we are sure that this day will come soon.

In the meantime, if you do have any contacts who may be interested in simply helping us to do desk research in their spare time, we would be massively grateful. We are a small team and there are lots of doors we have not yet knocked on simply because we don't know which doors may open for us. But we need to explore this avenue and find where to go with our fundraising bucket! Please get in touch with our team if you, or someone you know, would be interested in helping us - fundraising@huskyrescueireland.ie
