Children living at Hogar de Ninos Desde el Corazon-a residential home for kids whose rights have been violated-do not have access to books or a safe and inviting space to read. Fundacion Leer want to donate high-quality children's books to bring stories, learning, comfort, and joy to children who need them most. We want to equip a reading corner inside the home by Providing a curated collection of 120 high-quality books for different ages and reading levels.
In Marcos Juarez, Cordoba, the Hogar de Ninos Desde el Corazon provides protection, shelter, and daily care to children who have been removed from their homes by court order due to severe rights violations, neglect, or violence. While the home ensures safety, the children lack access to age-appropriate books, literacy experiences, and the emotional benefits that reading provides. There is currently no library, no reading nook, and very few books available for them.
Fundacion Leer want to equip a reading corner inside the home. The project includes: Providing a curated collection of 120-150 high-quality books for different ages and reading levels. Installing shelving, cushions, rugs, and cozy furniture to create a safe and inviting environment. Training local volunteers and caregivers to lead story times, read-aloud sessions, and regular literacy activities.
