Dear donor and friend, You Know Who. We are really wowed and honored by your support and I can tell you that I have not been lazy working on behalf of cats with special needs. As I already told you, feral cats in our region mostly suffer from Feline Leukemia or Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), which means death sentence for sure, unless they are rescued and treated adequately. We ultimately lost Lakshman due to FIV, but life goes on and that’s when Floki showed up. Likewise every abandoned animal, Floki can tell his story of abandonment, illness and cruelty. He has been thrown away in a plastic bag, covered with paint and dying of pneumonia and spent two months recovering in our local veterinary, before I decided to adopt him. He is also diagnosed with FIV, which usually comes with ulcers and tumors in the mouth, causing a lot of pain and complicating feed intake. But since he knows he has a home, he’s been making good progress, and again we can confirm that home, a family life and tuna make the difference. Obviously these infected cats need medical treatment to stimulate their immune system, but the secret for a better quality of life actually is a loving home. Hopefully some day we can build our House for Cats and Kids, so that many cats can recover in a safe place and finally find their match. Thank you for your trust, dear donor and friend, You Know Who.
