Affordable Healthcare for Women in Rural India

As a part of our healthcare for last-mile communities efforts, we organised three different healthcamps to spread awareness about our healthcare facilities and to ensure that the community has access to affordable healthcare services.

1. The Eyesight testing health camp was a 4 day health camp organised in the month of December 2022.We partnered with Omnisight International, founded by Om and Atman Jahagirdar, for organising the camp. Mr Qazi, a Mhaswad-based optometrist, supported the camp. Some children were found to have difficulties reading clearly. Glasses were created and distributed to some of the children. We are in the process of securing glasses for the other children. Wearing glasses regularly will allow children to see clearly, perform their daily activities without any obstacles and enable them to focus on their learning activities inside and outside the classroom.

2. The Physiotherapy Camp was conducted for the staff of mann deshi. This camp was held on 21st January 2023. We partnered with Dr. Akshaya Lade, a trained physiotherapist who specialises in physiotherapy for women. She taught different types of exercises and their benefits. Due to this camp, people understood what exercises should be done and how they should be done for body pain and joint pain. After exercise, the body felt relaxed.

3. The Police Personnel health camp was conducted on 26th January 2023. During the camp, the Police Personnel’s vitals were tested by the stadd of Mann Deshi’s Diagnostic Centre. About 34 police persons attend this camp. The camp encouraged the police personnel to carry out regular check-ups for their health. During the camp, 3 of them were found to have sugar and the Healthcare Centres’ doctors provided them with prescriptions to maintain their sugar levels.
