At Pawsitive Sanctuary (Canadian & US registered), we care for 425+ dogs on less than half an acre, including 125 paralyzed dogs who rely on wheelchairs. Space is urgently running out, and 2-3 new hit-and-run victims arrive daily. This project will help build a fully equipped sanctuary with x-ray and treatment rooms, dedicated recovery spaces, and safe outdoor areas for wheelchairs. With your support, we can give these vulnerable dogs the medical care and love they deserve.
Our shelter is severely overcrowded and under-resourced. With 425+ dogs crammed into less than half an acre, including many paralyzed dogs, there is no space for safe movement, recovery, or proper treatment. We lack basic medical facilities like X-rays and dedicated treatment rooms, forcing us to stretch limited care and deny help to injured animals-many victims of brutal human cruelty. This expansion will improve care for the animals already with us and ensure no injured animal is turned away.
By building a secure boundary wall and expanding the sanctuary, we will create safe, open spaces where paralyzed dogs can move freely in their wheelchairs. The project will include a fully equipped medical facility - operation theatre, ICU, & X-ray unit, allowing us to provide immediate care on site, along with dedicated rehabilitation and recovery areas. This expansion will reduce overcrowding, improve the well-being of animals already in our care, and help us rescue 600+ more animals yearly.
This project will transform Pawsitive Sanctuary into a fully equipped, sustainable haven for vulnerable animals. Our 125 paralyzed dogs will finally have safe spaces to move, recover, and thrive, while hundreds more animals each year will receive lifesaving care instead of being left to suffer on the streets. With on-site X-ray and treatment facilities, care will be faster and more effective, reducing suffering across the community & ultimately reducing the stray dog population in the long term.
