Challenge

Uganda has 54 confirmed cases of Covid 19 with over 600 contacts still being followed up. The situation may get worse in the slums due to overcrowding which make it easier for people to infect one another yet access to clean water is a challenge.

Solution

The project will distribute 70 tip-tap water cans in the slums of Bwaise to help reduce the spread of Covid 19, door to door awareness raising on the importance of hand washing, the ways of spread and preventive measure in the local language. The tip-tap water cans will be placed at strategic places in the slum and will be equipped with soap and water.

Long-Term Impact

The project will aim at improved hygiene and proper hand washing practices through setting at up hand washing stations in Bwaise there by saving lives of slum dwellers.
