The Pandemic has pushed all of us to explore even more the virtual world. And education is one of the most impacted fields. But not all of us have the same opportunities to explore, get to manage, and benefit from this alternative way of learning.
Many at-risk children do not have even access to the Internet neither their families own an intelligent device. In our program at the La Carpio community, more than 60% of the children have difficulties accessing online education. In Costa Rica, public education has become a hybrid system where more than half of the time children will take their classes virtually. This new reality is leaving behind children at social risk.
At our Program, we are making great efforts to help them to access the necessary resources to engage in virtual education and be successful at school.
Last months we have provided them access to the Internet and intelligent devices, group and one-to-one tutoring, food for them and their families, learning materials, socio-emotional support, arts, and ludic events.
Our service to the children of the La Carpio community is only possible thanks to your generosity. You are making a difference in the lives of these children!
