We continue serving the deprived community of Carpio in Costa Rica. This community is in urgent need of meaningful support to overcome the challenges and trials they face every day and that have increased tenfold in times of the Pandemic. Once the sanitary measures were installed by the government, it has been impossible to meet with the children as schools and afterschool programs are not operating on site.
The times have imposed us to evolve and we are addressing the psychological, socioeconomic, and academic needs of the children in a hybrid manner –online and on-site when possible. Some of the actions we are taking are:
-Providing meals for the children and their families, both with cooked meals and crude groceries.
-Offering support to households with members suffering from Covid-19
-Distributions of masks, toiletries, cleaning products, and more.
-Online tutoring in Math, Spanish, and English
-Online arts, music, and ludic activities.
We are certain that the only way at-risk children can hope for a better future is to get a meaningful education. But to have a meaningful education their vital needs should be met as well.
We need your help to support them and their families in these difficult times. Please join us and help the most needed of all – vulnerable children that right now are wondering if they could have a proper meal tomorrow.
