We support Active School Volunteering Clubs led by youth in rural schools. Our goal is to help them to learn social skills. Additionally, we encourage youngsters to prepare short movies to show their activity and creativity, that's how they learn digital skills. For the 1st time, on June 20, we plan to organize the Young Volunteers Film Festival in a local cinema, where 150 young volunteers will show their achievements on the big screen. We raise money for transport and for healthy refreshments.
We cooperate with youth from rural primary schools 10 to 50 km away from Ek. Young people are creative; with a small encouragement and help from us, they open up to new challenges and get involved in making films about their volunteering actions. They learn how to perform in front of the camera, make their own shots, and create scenarios. They will overcome their fear of public speaking. The filming classes we provide give them the first experience in movie making.
Thanks to the raised funds, we'll be able to organize the Young Volunteers Film Festival in a local cinema for the first time. Young volunteers will see their own and other young people's films on the big screen. We'll proudly present videos of young people that show volunteering through their eyes.
The Young Volunteers Film Festival will allow over 150 young volunteers to come to Elk and see the effects of their hard work among partners and local authorities. In this way, we'll appreciate the year-round efforts of young people who will strengthen their self-confidence and sense of agency. We can already see that some young volunteers have a passion for filming and may tie their future to it.
